”The Jesper Dahlbäck I know!
He’s a handy man with a big heart! He always carry the most interesting solution to a problem, and would never let a guy down.
Jesper used to show up at rave parties all dressed up in camouflage (him and Adam going as wave slaves). He was one of those guys you would be sure to find in front of the speakers at the party. Sometimes it even looked as if he wanted to enter the speaker itself.
When Jesper was standing behind the counter at the local record store (Planet Rhythm), he once made me think that I had to give up my keys just to listen to the latest Robert Armani record. I was young and Jesper was one of my biggest idols, so why wouldn’t I do as I was told. He then laughed, and grinned about the joke he just made. His kindness, humour and down-to-earthness always made me feel like an equal.
Jesper has many shapes and aliases. Ranging from the smoothest jazzy-deep-house to the weirdest acid track, or even gabber. But all Jesper’s tracks have the something in common – outstanding quality. Few manages to compose with such a geniune touch of quality which signifies Jesper’s work. Not only does he possess the knowledge of producing, but he also has musical qualities, something that can’t be tought. Combine that with a big spark of curiosity and a seemingly endless supply of imagination.
I have tons of memories from the 90’s. Jesper plays a big part in most of them. Like that time when I had fallen asleep under the stage at Docklands (a huge warehouse club in the late 90’s in Stockholm) just to wake up from a scream and the sight of 50 riot polices entering the dance floor. This was beginning of the end of the Swedish rave era and it was Jesper who was in the dj booth. He played one of my all time favorites! Dave Angle’s ”Airborn” and Carl Craig’s ”Drumstuck” remix, which is a huge build up track with a super-characteristic female scream. The image of the police entering, me waking up and that scream was just so surreal!
Jesper’s music will never leave me and I will probably always be one of he«s biggest fans. Nowadays Jesper is more than just a guy I respect for his musicality. He is a close friend. A friend who helped me out so many times, when I really needed it.
For example, I remember when I first moved to the Globe Studios (the heart of Stockholm’s techno/house scene) I had some problems with the guys who built my studio. I had to fire them, and in the end Jesper and me spent every afternoon and every night for over 6 months building the studio – together. It never would have worked out without Jesper! He was producing during daytime, picked up the hammer and helped me during the nights! I can never thank him enough for everything he has done for me since the time we first met!
Thank you Jesper! Thanks for being such a big supporter!”

Jesper Dahlbäck new founded label ”International Sound Laboratory” (ISL) already reached release nr 2 and includes remix from Pär.
Jesper has meant a lot to Pär over the years and that’s one of the reasons we invited him for December’s ”We Want You Badly” Radio Show as well as this month’s ”Artist Feature”.
4 questions to Jesper.
1. Tell us about your daily routine in the studio?
A day in the studio usually starts by going to the kitchen and start up the Gaggia coffee machine and make a fresh double espresso. After having a chat with some of the other people in the studio I usually power on the studio equipment. If I have any inspiration to start a track, I usually dive straight into the roland sh101 synthesizer which is really great for finding a good sound fast.
2. Will you release music under your aliases DJ Lenk or Persuader in the future?
no :)
3. What is your current projects?
Upcoming releases on ISL: next release is ADJD- ”Galactic Suite Part One” , which is Alexi Delano and Jesper Dahlbäck. Later on, a new collaboration between Jori Hulkkonen and Jesper Dahlbäck.
+ new remix on Alex Flatner and Lopazz on Cocoon…
4. From where did you get inspiration to the new ISL logo?
The logo is inspired from old seventies and eighties electronics, from companies that where designing electronic tools for scientific purposes. The logo is designed by Leo Norgren, an industrial designer from Stockholm.
